In recent months, Sydney's rental crisis has continued to worsen, with house and unit rental prices reaching unprecedented heights.
Domain's annual rent report has recorded a huge 24% increase in median rental prices, the fastest annual growth on record. Meaning almost any rental is now hot property, with some inspections recording over 40 or more attendees on gruelling Saturday Inspections.
One of Sydney's many hopeful renters, Alan Smith has described the process as "daunting" and "a little bit depressing"
"It's easy to find places, but you've got to duke it out in a battle royale with 50 other people",
he says.
